And A Happy New Year!

So while 2015 is still fresh and wishing everyone a happy new year hasn’t reached it’s cut off date yet, it’s time for a new post! Looking back on 2014 I have realized how much progressed I have made and just how much I have accomplished without even realizing it. In this new year I have a few personal goals for myself that I started before the year ended and wanted to bring into this new chapter of life! So here goes my list:

  1. Get fit! I’ve started the infamous “Squat Challenge” and boy are my legs killing me right now. As well as getting fit, i’m trying to eat healthier and get my mind in a healthy place as well. Mind and body go hand in hand.
  2. Learn Spanish. I know I said this last year, but I really want to be serious about it this year. I have no excuse, last year was my warmup!
  3. Make time for me! I feel like I do so much for everyone and put everyone ahead of myself, I need to make a conscious effort to make some time for Jordy.
  4. Get dressed up more! When you look good, you feel good. And I need to stop looking like a bum! I am a hairstylist for goodness’ sake! Time to start looking like it!
  5. And last but not least, I need to be happy. It’s so easy to let the little things get you down and not appreciate the positivity that is all around us. I need to open my eyes and see just how great life really is.

So that’s it for my “New Year, New Me” goals! What do you guys have as goals for this new year?

-XOXO, Jordy

I’m Back!

After a brief hiatus, getting a little too comfortable, and most importantly overcome with laziness I am back. I got a full time job as an assistant at a salon in Atlanta, and still working part time at Banana Republic so my free has been a little few and far between. But I am back now and have a lot to make up for!

So first things first, the salon is slowly but surely starting to get better. When I first started I didn’t have very many people that i could talk to since I was the “new kid” and all but that’s getting better. And I’m making friends at Banana so that’s also good.

Love life has been ehhh…I thought everything was going well in that department for a while, but when people tend to fall off the face of the Earth and ignore you, it makes you rethink things a bit. But that’s okay, all that free time to hang out that I was scraping together I can use to do things like sleep! Which I have so desperately missed doing.

Since we last got together, i’ve gone to see Childish Gambino and DJ Snake and had a blast! I actually just got a ticket to a little festival in Atlanta called “Music in the Park” and I’m seeing MGMT and Girl Talk on the 17th. Super stoked about that! And Benny Benassi on the 25th! Even more stoked for that since it’s my birthday weekend. The big 2-1 is coming up and I don’t even know what to do with myself I’m so excited!

That’s all that’s really been going on with me lately, but since i’m making a conscious effort to update my blog again things will be back to normal soon!

Dermatologist and The Club.

Woke up bright and early today for a dermatologist appointment and I’m 115% positive that I looked like a 12 year in my skater skirt and the receptionist asking me if I needed a school note to get back into class. Haha my point has been proven! And my mom was definitely not a fan of my shirt today. It was the “fuck you” hand gestures on a solid white background shirt worn under a denim jacket. Offensive, yes, but a cool statement shirt? Definitely.

Me and my mom are mall rats no matter how much we both deny that we are, and somehow we ended up at yet another mall, and found some absolute steals on accident! A faux leather skater skirt on sale for 20 bucks, a gold faux snake skin skirt for 17 bucks, and a patterned bomber jacket for like 13 bucks. That’s a steal if you ask me!

Tonight was also Taylor’s last night in Atlanta so we went to check out this club here that’s supposed to be college night on Wednesdays. Let’s just say I would been done living the rest of my life not going there. And the temperature dropped ridiculously fast and it was freezing and Taylor and I are out in the cold with short skirts and crop tops. It was terrible.

Tonight was definitely interesting, and Taylor has an early flight in the morning. I hope everyone’s night was a lot warmer and a lot more productive than a ratchet club like mine was.

Hookah Lounge and Spring Break!

Since I’m no longer in school, I just automatically assume that no one else is until they say things like they’re on spring break!

Well my best friend from college came to Atlanta today from Houston to visit me during her spring break and we decided to experience some nightlife and we checked out a hookah lounge in the Castleberry District near downtown Atlanta.

The weather was awesome, until we left when it decided to rain, the food and drinks were yummy, and the hookah was great!

When I went to the airport to pick up Taylor up I wore black pants ands and a striped shirt just because we were gonna be running around and it was a casual day, and I got to break in some new flats I bought!

It actually took me some time to get dressed for the hookah lounge just because I really wanted to wear a maxi dress but they’re never quite long enough for me, but I eventually got over that and settled on a solid black maxi dress, light wash cropped denim vest, and camo flats. Cute but causal.

It’s good to have a little piece of home here with me in Atlanta even if it’s not for a few days. I hope everyone’s Tuesday was as wonderful as mine.

Atlanta I’m Here!

My final days in Austin are up and I’m finally here in Atlanta. For good. It’s a bittersweet feeling, and I actually cried as my cousin dropped me off. This move is really scary right now, but when I look back I know it will be something wonderful that I took the initiative to do for myself!

So with all the sappy stuff being said, I had to go out and party it up with everyone last night for the last time. It was interesting, long night to say the least. And me being grody woke up makeup still intact and just changed my mini skirt to a high low maxi skirt, same shirt on and headed for the airport.

My only wish for my move is that I stay focused and explore new things! Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!
