I’m Back!

After a brief hiatus, getting a little too comfortable, and most importantly overcome with laziness I am back. I got a full time job as an assistant at a salon in Atlanta, and still working part time at Banana Republic so my free has been a little few and far between. But I am back now and have a lot to make up for!

So first things first, the salon is slowly but surely starting to get better. When I first started I didn’t have very many people that i could talk to since I was the “new kid” and all but that’s getting better. And I’m making friends at Banana so that’s also good.

Love life has been ehhh…I thought everything was going well in that department for a while, but when people tend to fall off the face of the Earth and ignore you, it makes you rethink things a bit. But that’s okay, all that free time to hang out that I was scraping together I can use to do things like sleep! Which I have so desperately missed doing.

Since we last got together, i’ve gone to see Childish Gambino and DJ Snake and had a blast! I actually just got a ticket to a little festival in Atlanta called “Music in the Park” and I’m seeing MGMT and Girl Talk on the 17th. Super stoked about that! And Benny Benassi on the 25th! Even more stoked for that since it’s my birthday weekend. The big 2-1 is coming up and I don’t even know what to do with myself I’m so excited!

That’s all that’s really been going on with me lately, but since i’m making a conscious effort to update my blog again things will be back to normal soon!

At 9am my phone rang, and I jumped out of bed to a phone call that I got the salon job! And now officially am starting at Salon Red! Such great news to start my day!

But then, I found out that my car had engine damage from my car accident and I can’t drive it. But I already knew that since the engine started to smoke last night. So I’m carless and have never used public transportation a day in my life! The highs and lows of my day man.

But I’m not going to complain, because everything will work out in time. But I am so excited about my new job! Orientation is Tuesday!

I wanted to wear animal print today, since I was feeling sassy about my great news!

Thursday was the day of my second interview and also the first day of spring! I was worried because I don’t really know a lot of people in Atlanta so I had a rough time finding someone to come in and be my model but finally someone came in and I gave her a banging blowout, if I must say so myself! And I finally was able to mail everything out to the Georgia State Board so hopefully I will hear something back soon about my cosmetology license being transferred from Texas to Georgia.

But I was trying to channel my inner bad ass stylist and went with a dark navy skirt with deep slits on both sides, a basic black cami, a black knit cardigan, and animal print Mary Janes.

Sorry I haven’t updated, this week has been a rough one for me. I got into a car accident Monday night and my poor car is in the outs. ;/ but I’m okay so I guess you can always get a new car. There’s only one me.

But on the bright side I had another salon interview and I didn’t think it went that well but I got invited for a second interview, so I thought wrong! But I was very overdressed for the interview. Everyone was in black, general salon colors. I, on the other hand was not lol.

A leather circle, a denim shirt, black tights, and black ankle boots. And since it was raining my floral trench coat. Cute, but overdressed. But it worked for me!

ATLien…well kinda.

I’m kinda sorta moved to Atlanta, I’m making one last trip to Texas to get the rest of my stuff tomorrow and then I’ll be in Atlanta for good (at least for now)! I’m really excited to be moving but at the same time I’m super nervous. I came to Atlanta this weekend to interview at a few places and do a salon tour. Atlanta is very different than Austin in more ways than one, but especially style wise. So even though I was only touring and asking to transfer locations today I still wanted to look awesome.

Maybe it’s just me but when I look awesome I feel even more confident. I took so long getting dressed today I didn’t take that great of a picture for my outfit but I threw on a black collarless blazer with leather trim on the panels and neck, black tights, and black ankle booties. And my purse was a vibrant cobalt blue. Loved my outfit, hate that I didn’t get a picture of the full thing. What do you guys wear for interviews and job settings?
